Lazy Summer Sewing

I'm two weeks in to Summer, and I've been indulging myself with sewing and spending time with my son. Lately, I've been doing a lot of pattern sewing.  Perhaps I need to brush up my skills a little, or perhaps I've found some awesome patterns and fabric that I love.  Either way, it's been a fairly blissful sewing period for me.

I used a pattern to make these digs for a party in Waikiki.

These hula outfits I made for a group of kids going to Japan.  The boys' shirts were from a pattern, but I whipped up the girls' dresses from one of my own patterns.

It was rewarding to see them perform as a group with their super spiffy outfits.

I also had some time to do a refashion.

I found this polyester golf shirt at an awesome thrift shop (Holy Nativity) for $1.50.  I've had my eye on it for a while, but only decided to buy it when it went on sale for half off.  I guess I'm too cheap to spend $3.

Luckily I discovered this awesome pattern, which I've used to make two pairs of pants, shorts and this awesome skirt.

My photographer is out of town, so I had to sneak this shot in the dressing room at Nordstrom.  I would say that it was pretty resourceful of me.

I have a few more refashions in the works for this summer.  Hopefully, I'll be posting soon.

Until next time...

    1. Thanks, Lola! This skirt was so super easy to make. With the elastic in the back, it's also so comfortable. Thanks for stopping by.

    1. Happy Summer to you as well, Beth. I hope that you are having a relaxing and enjoyable one. This summer has been fairly busy for me. I've been doing more pattern sewing instead of refashioning. I need to get inspired!
